2210 Patisserie is a small but rapidly growing business with two physical locations and an active e-commerce website. The client sought a stable, scalable hosting solution and ongoing development services to handle their increasing traffic and support their expansion.
2210 Patisserie faced several challenges, primarily around managing heavy traffic spikes due to social media hype. The website often crashed under the load generated by Una's Instagram followers. The client also needed to automate several manual processes that were taking up a lot of employee time.
In addition to handling these traffic spikes, the client wanted to streamline operations. Their financial controller spent 40 minutes each morning compiling reports from online orders. This process was both time-consuming and prone to errors, impacting their efficiency.
Our expertise in low-level WordPress customisation and traffic management made us the perfect partner to solve these challenges.
We began by stabilising the website’s hosting to ensure it could handle the influx of traffic. Our automatic scaling solution accommodated seasonal peaks, keeping the site running smoothly no matter how much traffic surged. On the development side, we reduced the number of plugins from 59 to 24, replacing redundant plugins with custom-built functionality. This resulted in a huge boost in performance, along with SEO and Best Practices (based on Google PageSpeed Insights) and a much better user experience.
To further streamline operations, we built a custom dispatch date system within the website. This system allowed users to select a dispatch date when ordering cakes, and employees could now generate Excel reports with a single click. This automated process saved the financial controller 182 hours annually – time that could be redirected to more strategic tasks.
The result of our work was a stable, high-performing website that could handle large traffic spikes without crashing. We saved the client €1,200 annually in hosting costs and increased website performance by 13.54%, providing a faster, smoother experience for their growing customer base.
Our custom-built dispatch system also automated labor-intensive processes, significantly reducing manual tasks for employees and increasing overall efficiency. The financial controller now saves almost 3.5 hours per week, allowing them to focus on more critical business operations.
This project demonstrates our expertise in WordPress development, plugin optimisation, and the integration of business operations with digital platforms. Ultimately, we not only solved technical challenges but also provided the client with the tools to scale efficiently and focus on their business’s core strengths.
